The failure to pursue disarmament and the reliance on inherently flawed systems of control highlight a dangerous underestimation of human fallibility and technological imperfection.
Finally, the rapid advancement of technology, particularly in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI) and biotechnology, presents existential risks that are not adequately governed or understood. The pursuit of innovation without sufficient foresight or ethical consideration could lead to scenarios where autonomous weapons systems are deployed, genetic engineering goes awry, or AI systems operate without adequate controls or alignment with human values.
